And in the midst of it all

.
How quickly things can change. While I was writing this post they announced that Israel has finally begun the long-awaited and equally dreaded ground invasion of Gaza. Israel held off as long as it possibly could, and tried every other method possible, but the moment has come. There is no alternative. All my thoughts and whatever prayers I know how to offer are with our soldiers and those in the South as we begin this new and infinitely more difficult phase.
.
Send whatever good thoughts you've got our way. We're going to need them in the days to come.

.
.
.
Taken from my rooftop balcony this evening. These are straight out of the camera, the only thing I did to them is add the frame. Incredible, isn't it?
.
I can only hope that those in the south had a chance to see this incredible beauty this evening, instead of seeing terror raining down from the skies, to remember that there is good in the world, and beauty, and the hope of peaceful days to come.
.
(I should probably have saved these for Skywatch Friday, but they were too good to wait. Maybe I'll post more then - I took nearly forty. )

Isn't it amazing how, in the midst of such pain and chaos, that there is still such beauty?
I'm watching the news and thinking of you. Take care.

The plight of Israel has been the headline on the front pages of our papers for days now. You are constantly on my mind and in my prayers.
Beautiful sky...reminds me of pictures in an old Golden Book, called Grandpa Bunny Bunny. My husband has had the book for 50 years. I've often thought about trying to find a copy that's in better shape, than the one he has...but I'm too cheap.

I have always loved the skies in Israel. Somehow, they are are so different from anywhere else I have been.

God bless.

My heart goes out to you and yours now. Be safe. Hug the kids an extra time tonight. Know that we're thinking of you.

I've been thinking of you every day, but especially since the news of the invasion broke here. Those skys are gorgeous. It's amazing how beauty can exist with so much fear.

Beautiful skies. May all the soldiers be safe. May there come a day when soldiering will not be needed...

A simple reminder that all the problems in the world are created by man.

My thoughts go out to innocent families who lose their children and loved ones whichever side they stand.

Regrettably two wrongs will never make a right.

Beautiful pictures

I know the feeling. About the photos I mean, not the bombs raining down from the skies.

But I'm happy you didn't wait. These are gorgeous. And if there are more of them on Friday, those will be gorgeous too.

Beautiful images in such a difficult time. I'm glad you are safe. The news reports here just amaze me. Hardly anything is mentioned here about the missile attacks on Israel. Interview after interview of people in Gaza that can't understand why such a horrible thing would happen to them. Talk about media bias. Don't get me started. I'm just glad you're safe.
