(Have you entered my PakNaks giveaway yet? It's open to everyone, regardless of where you live!)
Since it's Chinese New Year, here's a splash of red lacquer for this week's Ruby Tuesday. I don't remember where these chopsticks came from, I've had them for years. I like their elegant look, but the truth is they're round and so slick that they're actually a bit more challenging to use than the plain wooden ones. They do look great on the table though.

The red lacquer chop sticks sure did the macro trick for Ruby Tuesday.
I never got the hang of eating with chop sticks.
My daughter does use them with skilled elegance.
Guess I just don't have the patience.
When I'm hungry I want the food to land in my mouth, and I love eating Chinese.

What a clever idea. I would like to have thought about it for this definite time.
They're very elegant and have class on a table, I agree.
Happy Ruby Tuesday, Robin.
Nice set of chopsticks! :)
The ones we got for the Lunar New Year looks like these too :P
Happy Ruby Tuesday!!!
Yum, now I want Chinese. It's all about the food for me ;-)
Gorgeous shot, as usual, I love how the camera is focused on the fourth one in.
The chop sticks are stunning and their layout is very appropriate!
Robin, thank you for suggesting the
giveaway for my girl...she is too grown up for them; unfortunately.
Have a great Tuesday.
Eaton!
Too bad. With that note on cute purple paper I thought she might get a kick out of them.
these are stylish chopsticks. my brother and family lived in tel aviv 20 years ago, then returned to south africa.been there, love it and jerusalem too.
I like the way you've arranged these for the photo, Robin,
Well spotted. Love this picture a lot!
yes pretty and elegant
Very snazzy looking, I bet they'd look great as a hair piece too! I've always admired women who manage to put their hair in a bun and then make it stay up with (chp) sticks like this:)
I knew what I was going to say and got all the way through the comments to find Pia was on the same mind wavelength. :)
When my daughter was a teenager she did just that - used them to put her long hair up. It was cheaper than buying actual hair accessories and just as pretty.
Nice macro shot! Timely post as well.
Lovely chopsticks. Would add elegance to a meal. In our home, chopsticks become toys and get scattered over the house, never to be found again when one wants to eat Chinese. But I suppose if they were this elegant, I would be issuing stern warnings.
Great idea for RT. Since they're not super useful as chopsticks, you could put them in your hair.
These are really pretty. Since I have a DIL from Korea, we have lots of chopsticks - even stainless steel BUT - I find that I can use the cheap ones, like you get at a Chinese Buffet, the best!
Lovely!!
Very red and lovely! Round or not round, I'm terrible with them!
Wonderful shot! I don't know that I've ever tried using any that were lacquered. The closest I came was once improvising with a couple of unsharpened pencils. (Long and not-terribly-interesting story involving much overtime and a vending machine dinner.)
they're beautiful! I have never mastered chop sticks
love your new look!! the island looks even prettier from that angle - I love your island
We had those same chopsticks when I was growing up. I have aften wondered what happened to them because we could really use a few pair.
Lovely photo...as always.
BTW, I adore your new look!
I was going to say the hair thing too - they would look beautiful in an up-do. They are lovely. I bet they would look nice in some kind of contemporary floral arrangement.
As always, beautiful pic!
