My wife went to Israel in 1968 and picked apricots. She said they were called mish-mish. I love apricots too, they are a special treat if they are dipped in chocolate. : )
Mmmm... that DOES sound good. I'll have to investigate and let you know.
I do love the dried ones - maybe I'll start out by dipping one of those in chocolate, just for the sake of research ;).
I'm not sure if the netting is for weather or more likely to keep this particular field from growing/ripening as early as some other one, so that the crop is staggered a bit.

My first time too, to see an apricot tree, or in deed an apricot orchard. I love aprocot and almond jam, it's delicious. Oh, and apricot tart.. And I guess I would love apricots dipped in chocolate too!

Oh apricots! It's been so long since I have had one. Now I'm remembering a large apricot tree in the midst of an avocado orchard at a house my parents once rented when I was young. I'd gladly trade the avocado tree in my garden for an apricot!
Hope you go back to that orchard and show us what it looks like later!

The draping at top does look good in monochrome, as does the perspective and depth. Reminds me of days on kibbutz or much more recently in the orchards of New Jersey.
Nice shot Robin. The orchard is so very orderly. We have many peach orchards in my area. I love to ride by on my bicycle and see (and photograph too) row upon row of peach trees lovingly tended.

I love apricots - good to see them at "home". I suppose the covers are to protect tender buds from inclement weather.

So those are apricot trees? So many. I've never even seen one.

We used to have an apricot tree in our front yard (CA) it produced the best fruit. Luckily, we never had to worry about frost.
