Thursday Thirteen #3

And now for something completely different...

Robin's 13 Favorite Dead Tunes

1. St. Stephen
2. Me and My Uncle
3. Scarlet Begonias
4. Ripple
5. Friend of the Devil
6. Box of Rain
7. Hell in a Bucket (yeah yeah, I know it's "new", but I like it anyway. Oh wow, I just checked and it was first debued in 1983 and I just called it "new". I think I'm dating myself here. No, better to just say I've been a deadhead for a lonnnng time.)
8. Operator
9. Sugar Magnolia
10. Uncle John's Band
11. Touch of Gray (another "newbie" that I'm starting to appreciate more as I get older)
12. Playing in the Band
13. Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodleloo

I know there are some Deadheads out there among you. Which songs make your heart go zing?

So you're a deadhead! Great idea for a list and especially good to have the links for those of us that only know a few of their songs.

My son used to go to their concerts if they were anywhere near him. Ugh. Writing that made me feel old! lol

Thanks for coming by my TT.

Cool list! You've got my favorite Dead songs in there, too: Sugar Magnolia, Uncle John's Band, and Touch of Gray. :)

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

Awesome list! :) I don't listen to those songs as often as I listen to others... but you've got I like on the list! :)

Thank you for sharing and thank you for stopping by my blog.

I think I'm too young *gasp* to know these songs. I know what a dead head is, though! *LOL*

Thanks for dropping by.

Okay, I'm a loser. I've never been a deadhead but I will admit that I like some of their songs.

I'm so uncool. *grin*

Thanks for stopping by!

Never was a deadhead, but I do know Jerry Garcia was a pretty good banjo player. Liked the stuff he did with Grisman.

I am not a Grateful Dead fan, never was, but the names sure look appealing. Nice idea btw, for a blog entry.

I'm finding a whole world of interesting people through your blog. Isn't that how people find each other -- in this case, two bloggers in Israel?

This area is gorgeous and yes, I recall reading about your Mt. Hermon trip three weeks ago.Nice blog. Every day I wake up to a dream. Can't believe I have 'earned' living in such a tranquil, idyllic place.

I'm not sure that my particular corner of Israel will ever be called either tranquil or idyllic, but thankfully yours is, so I can escape when the crush of the megalopolis gets overwhelming. If only my husband's work was portable I'd move up there in a heartbeat.

The internet is certainly a strange and wonderful place, isn't it...

That's what T13 is all about, learning about one another. Cool list, though I must admit I never got into Grateful Dead.

My brothers liked them, and have some awesome stories from the concert they went to one time.

I work with an engineer, we're talking serious straight arrow here, and he has every recorded album (on cd now) and every bootleg he can get his hands on. You never know who's going to be a Dead Head.

Scribbit said...

Okay I'm embarrassed to say this, but you're talking Grateful Dead? I should know it I know but the closest I've ever come to the GD is Cherries Garcia ice cream from Ben and Jerry.

My parents were more into Eric Clapton, Cream, CCR, the Beatles, etc. so that's more my area of expertise.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with any of these. :)

I did click on the link you shared on my blog about Israeli folk singers -- I'll have to come back and explore that more later, but I enjoyed the 3-4 songs I heard.

Thanks for visiting!
