A Sport is Born

.
Amidst the detritus of the party, a sport is born...
.
.
.
.
Balloon soccer. Invented and soon to be wildly promoted by my 7.5 year old son, who is absolutely confident that if I will just agree to get him a table at next year's after-school activities fair children will flock to him to join his new sport, and will of course also pay him handsomely for said privilege.
.
Oh to be seven again...
.
Visit Ruby Tuesday for other glimpses of red from around the world.

My babe would love to join him in the balloon fun! If nothing else, she would be a raving fan on the sidelines, but I think she'd rather be in the middle of all the bustle.

Oh that is lovely!

Have to say it looks like it might hurt less than the regular kind of soccer. Emphasis would have to be on gentleness, strategy and teamwork as opposed to speed and force. Great idea for children stuck indoors, like at a children's hospital or something. Kids in wheelchairs could play, too, and be at no real disadvantage. Goals could be a square taped to a wall at whatever height works for the teams playing... I think the kid's onto something... maybe not for his school, but for other venues... just sayin' he's got my vote. You tell him that, eh?

I love it! That's a fabulous sport. Good thing he used a red soccer balloon!

That's a very nice sport, especially inside in the living room (hehehe)

Halloween makes me laugh the costumes are so exaggerated that they become funny ! The children mostly like it too. I think it is celebrated here in Waterloo because we have so many Americans living here, there is an american school in Waterloo and Belgians like to take over nice or funny uses from other countries.

Any sport involving a balloon is tops in my book! He is too cute, Robin.

That is one of my girls favorite games in the house... until one of the balloons pop and my 3 year old screams from the noise.

It reminds me that young kids receive many presents for the birthday party, but, finally, they play with "little something"so simple.
Thanks for this Red sign of joy, Robin, so usual for who has children.
You have a 2 beautiful children in a cosy home!

I think he's onto something. Looks more fun than traditional soccer, and for me in Seattle, it seems like a great way to keep the kids indoors but active.

Oh to be seven...not so many cares, where play is work. Sigh, I was seven in 1962...real life really interferes as a grown up.

Ah, to be young again...and make up new games again and again!

I used to do that when I was 7 too. It's addicting, I tell you.

Lovely living room by the way!

You know, in all the times he's worn those shorts I'd never noticed what it said on them until you pointed it out Carletta!

By the way, I forgot to say in the previous comment, I absolutely loved that Barbie cake and Princess Maya's dress! Well done!

You should petition the IOC to make that an Olympic event!
